BAY STREET KEEPS THE KIDS ENTERTAINED ALL WINTER LONG!

KIDS SCHOOL VACATION THEATRE CAMP IS BACK

Sag Harbor, NY: January 11, 2010 Now that the holidays have come and gone and the cold appears here to stay, another school vacation break is already fast approaching.  No need to worry as Bay Street’s ever popular School Vacation Theatre Camp returns for both the February and March school breaks.

Back by popular demand, Bay Street’s KIDS SCHOOL VACATION THEATRE CAMP will run from February 15 - 19 and again for the spring break in March from March 29 - April 2,  9am – 3pm daily.  Each week long session will include classes and games incorporating every aspect of theatre- from acting to singing, from performance to dance.  Students will write and perform in their own mini-musical!  In it’s inaugural year, Bay Street’s Theatre Camp received rave reviews from both students and parents alike. Wrote one parent, “You must know and feel how positively you all impact upon the kids involved and how grateful we are as parents to have our children guided through this kind of love and discipline and creativity.  Thank you for hosting this incredible experience.”

Both camp sessions will be led by Broadway’s own Debra Barsha.  Debra is a professional teacher as well as Broadway performer and musician. She is the current pianist, singer and Assistant Conductor of Broadway’s Jersey Boys.  Beyond her performing talents, Ms. Barsha is also known for her songwriting, and she has penned a number of musicals for both children and adults alike. Ms. Barsha will have the students practice many of the dramatic arts including, singing, dancing, acting, improvisation, performance and more.   "I tell the kids in theater class that there is no such thing as a mistake.  It's one of the only places in their lives they will ever hear that.  As long as you are in character, you are allowed to be and do anything you want!", says Debra.

Theatre Camp is recommended for children ages 8 to 12 years old.  The cost for one-week is $350 per child.  Students are required to bring a bag lunch and have a willingness to learn.  Bay Street will provide the rest, including snacks. Class size is limited and fills up quickly.  The deadline for enrollment is February 5th, space permitting.  Call Bay Street’s administrative office at 631-725-0818 x110 to sign up today.

As the cold of winter continues, Bay Street is trying to keep it warm with music, instruments, computers and more! The 2nd Session of Bay Streets’ new KIDS AFTERSCHOOL CLASSES starts the week of February 22nd.  This 5-week session will run through March 22 and is being offered for children ages 8 to 12.  Each class will be held from 4pm – 5:30pm in the afternoon and cost is $125 per child.  Call 631-725-0818 x110 to reserve your spot today.

Session 1 of KIDS AFTERSCHOOL CLASSES began on January 11th and runs through February 12th.  Bay Street has a few openings and is accepting late additions to a few of the classes for Session 1.  Call 631-725-0818 x110 for more information.
