After a one-week hiatus, THE JAM SESSION returns on February 4th and will be held every Thursday through April 15 from 7 - 9pm.  Music lovers can enjoy live jazz courtesy of local musicians.  As a listener, this is an opportunity to experience amazing music at a wonderful venue, at an incredible price – free!

Returning on Sunday, February 7th is Bay Street’s new SINGER-SONGWRITER SUNDAYS with up and coming talent and seasoned pros performing original songs. Sure to please both young and old alike!  SINGER-SONGWRITER SUNDAYS are free and will continue every 1st and 3rd Sunday through March from 5 – 7pm.

On Friday, February 12th starting at 8pm, Bay Street will be showing the 2010 WINTER OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONIES live from Vancouver on the big screen.  The Opening Ceremony is a unique, large-scale celebration capturing the spirit and personality of the XXI Winter Olympic Games and is a celebration of the world’s greatest athletes and the countries that they represent which culminates in the lighting of the Olympic torch.  Don’t miss the chance to share this special free event with the community!

Calling all film critics!  Agree with all the hype behind James Cameron’s AVATAR?  Find George Clooney’s performance in UP IN THE AIR Oscar-worthy?  For all those movie lovers out there, Bay Street will be broadcasting the 82nd ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS on Sunday, March 7th beginning at 7:30pm live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.  This free broadcast of the Oscars will be co-hosted by funnymen Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, fresh off their film IT’S COMPLICATED.  Sure to be an interesting and exciting race!
